Hope for Paws is indeed true to their promise of helping, rescuing, and rehoming stray dogs! This article is about one of the sweetest rescue missions that they had.
Hope for Paws is a group based in California dedicated to helping other dogs in need of shelter.
They received a call about two stray poodles living together under the Los Angeles freeway, buried deep in the sewers. The two dogs were living in harsh conditions, in a dark and filthy sewer. Thankfully, they were kind people feeding these two dogs while waiting for rescue.
Eldad, Hope for Paws founder, and Vanessa Enriquez, one of the volunteers, went to the sewers to rescue the two dogs. They proceeded to crawl into the narrow and stinky sewer to save these poor, lonely, mangy dogs.
The dogs seemed to be a brother-sister pair because the male Maltese tried to protect his sister from impending harm. It was apparent to the rescuers that the dog siblings were very afraid of them, as they haven’t experienced any unconditional love from a human being. Luckily, the Hope for Paws team tried and worked very hard to gain these two dogs’ trust and let them know that they are safe and that the rescuers won’t hurt them. Eldad and Vanessa were very patient to get these two dogs’ affection before they brought them in the car.
The two dogs are named Pepsi and Cola.
A few days after they were rescued, the two underwent a stunning transformation that would make them look like properly bred animals once more. They were given a bath and a haircut. In the video, it can be seen that they were happy after they were groomed, as it feels nice to be clean of any dirt once more.
But, grooming isn’t the end for both Cola and Pepsi, as they still have one more need to address. They are now looking for forever homes for these two to experience the tender loving care they truly deserve.
We should be thankful for people like Eldad and Vanessa, who would go to such lengths to save such precious creatures from harsh conditions to provide them with a better and healthy life. If what these two did doesn’t make you smile, I’m not sure what does!
