Making sure that our dogs are fed is important. However, as responsible dog owners, we need to ensure that our dogs also get the exercise they need to remain healthy. Many dog owners tend to neglect exercising their dogs and overfeed them, which results in their dogs becoming overweight or even obese.
Fat dogs may seem healthy, but they’re not. Excess weight and fat can lead to serious health issues that can significantly shorten the life of your dog. They may develop joint problems, heart diseases, and even diabetes, which is why we need to take our dogs on walks or runs every day. Exercising our dogs is also a great way to keep our dogs happy.
A woman named Heidi happened to see advertising about a Black Labrador needing a new home. Heidi and her family weren’t looking to adopt a dog, but when Heidi saw the Black Labrador’s picture, she knew that she just has to have him. The advertising described the Black Labrador named Shiloh was a tad overweight and needed someone to help him become healthy again.
Heidi and her family were up to the challenge and adopted Shiloh. Shiloh proved to be quite a cuddly and loving dog. Although Shiloh loves going out, he had trouble walking because of his weight. Whenever Heidi and her family took Shiloh out on walks, Shiloh would sit or lay down on the road and refuse to move.
Shiloh was on a very restricted diet to help him lose weight, and Heidi and her family needed to keep food out of Shiloh’s sight. It was a long road to health, but Shiloh started to lose weight, and many people cheered him on. When Heidi first got Shiloh, Shiloh weighed 146 pounds, which is twice the healthy English Labrador’s weight.
Each day, walking got a little easier for Shiloh, and he eventually learned to run. Shiloh is so happy when he can finally run around and play with his family. It’s an amazing improvement, and Shiloh is so happy, thanks to his amazing new family for helping him lose weight.
Heidi and her family couldn’t be prouder of Shiloh for achieving such a fantastic feat. Shiloh’s weight loss journey is undoubtedly inspiring, and it teaches us a lesson that anything is possible with a little patience and plenty of love.
